Save Energy By Using Google In A Black Background

This is interesting - I came across this the other day while browsing the net and found this site. It's just the same as the normal Google search engine, but in black instead of the traditional white. This is supposed to save your monitor energy as the screen is predominantly black. You can read about how Black Google (Blackle) would save 750 megawatts a year here.

You might have to revert to the basic Google (the one which is predominantly white) for image searches etc. which I think is the only letdown, but I think this is the way forward! It's free to use and almost identical to the Google you would normally use day to day. I think you should try it out for a while and see how it works out for you.

Save Blackle as your homepage today and save energy! It comes in other languages too :)
